A Bit About Me
I (they/them) am a multidisciplinary performing artist, arts manager, stage manager, and social activist residing in Bloemfontein, South Africa. With a passion for using the arts as a vehicle for social change and mental wellness, my work is rooted in centering BIPOC and Queer narratives.
I am currently completing a Bachelor of Arts in Drama and Theatre Arts at the University of the Free State, with a focus on movement and physical theatre. My artistic interests lie in the transformative power of the body, particularly in exploring movement therapy as a site of healing. With over a decade of experience across multiple roles in the creative industry, I have served as a performer, curator, and coordinator for festivals such as the Vrystaat Kunstefees and the Pan-African Creative Exchange.
My recent work includes stage management and performance in productions such as Twelve Angry Jurors, The Good White, This Shit is Hard, and the devised production Known Unknown, Unknown Known, in which I also designed sound. My commitment to community-driven work extends beyond the stage.
I have collaborated with Indigenous communities on culturally sensitive exhibitions, delivered guest lectures on LGBTQI+ rights in Africa, and co-curated Global South Arts and Health Week as an African lead. My creative repertoire spans stage acting, choreography, lighting design, sound design, and vocal arrangement, with original works like Black Girl Rant, The Truth Stands, and Ngitibuyisela Kimi earning critical attention for their political edge and creative boldness.
I brings both a local and global perspective to my practice. My work continues to challenge norms, provoke thought, and inspire healing through art.
